Our 2019 Flotilla Grand Marshalls are Susan and Terry Martin from cottage # 83. Their Pretty Lake property was originally purchased by Susan’s grandparents, Charles and Esther Ueber, as a retirement fishing cottage. Although she was a very young child, Susan fondly remembers her grandfather fishing and her grandmother cooking delicious bluegills in her cast iron skillet.
As the years passed, the cottage was owned by Father Charles Ueber, Susan’s uncle and by her mother Mary Margaret Ueber Kane.
Present owners, Susan and Terry Martin, reside in Indianapolis but spend many happy summer days on Pretty Lake. The cottage is also enjoyed by their daughter Heather and their granddaughters Lylah and Julia, who are the 5th generation.
Pretty Lake is truly a special place to the Martin Family and to all of us who enjoy its natural beauty!
